The Nyaishozi College of Health and Allied Sciences Strategic Plan covering five-year period from 2022/23-2026/27. The Strategic Plan was prepared within the context of College’s reviewed vision, i.e. “To be a leading training institution and resource Centre in Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania” and its Mission, i.e. “To provide learners with accessible and flexible higher education opportunities, and professional development programmes that reflect current and emerging knowledge and practices relevant to the learner and to employers”.
The rationale for the strategic plan is to harmonize and maximize the effective utilization of the available resources, to form a useful basis for attracting increased strategic funding from interested development partners, to complement the College’s self-generated funds and to improve organizational performance at all levels of the College’s operations. This Strategic Plan will enable all players to be accountable, transparent as well as to enable management to communicate with employees and other stakeholders. To achieve the rationale, twelve strategic objectives were developed. These are:
i. Enhanced teaching and learning;
ii. Improved student enrolment;
iii. Enhanced research, consultancy and publications capacity;
iv. Improved Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure and services;
v. Enhanced human resources management;
vi. Improved library capacity and services;
vii. Improved physical infrastructure and facilities;
viii. Strengthened strategic planning, health and public relations;
ix. Improved financial resources mobilization and management;
x. Improved national and international linkages;
xi. Strengthened quality assurance and control; and
xii. Enhanced HIV/AIDS services.
The above strategic objectives were developed to reflect need of the College to diversify its training programs in the area of Health and Allied Sciences. The College intends to offer Health and Allied Sciences studies; improvement in areas of consultancies, research, and short courses training; and widen up College’s coverage area by introducing collaborative programmes, both nationally and internationally.
This Strategic Plan is organized in seven chapters.
Chapter one describes institutional set up and provides background information.
