A medical laboratory or clinical laboratory is a laboratory where tests are conducted out on clinical specimens to obtain information about the health of a patient to aid in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. A medical laboratory technologist or clinical laboratory technologist, works to analyze a variety of biological specimens. They are responsible for performing scientific testing on samples and reporting results to Clinicians.  

It is estimated 60 to 70 percent of all decisions regarding a patient’s diagnosis, treatment, hospital admission, and discharge are based on the results of the tests medical laboratory technologists’ perform.

On the other hand, medical laboratory technologists collaborate very closely with clinicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease processes, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of therapy. More….
